Homebuyer Education Courses
Completion of a homeownership class is required in order to participate in the Trust’s Homeownership Program. Please keep the following in mind when selecting a course:
Selecting a Course
The homebuyer course you selected must be approved by the lender of your mortgage. For loans purchased on or after January 1, 2021, Fannie Mae issued guidance that acceptable homebuyer education must be: (1) HomeView, or; (2) approved by HUD or NIS (see links below).
Course Fees
Some courses may have fees associated with them and they are not paid for by the Trust.
Maryland Mortgage Program
Maryland Mortgage Program does not review for compliance with this FNMA requirement, but it can impact loan purchase.
If you are unsure if a course is approved by your lender, or would like to pursue and alternative homebuyer education courses, please contact a Trust staff member.
